The Nevada Military Support Alliance has pledged $300,000 to create a center to help veterans at the University of Nevada.
The new Veteran and Military Center will be housed in the new William N. Pennington Student Achievement Center – which is scheduled to open in 2016.
“It’s neat to have a one stop shop for these benefits so they can get information and really team with other veterans and get to know who else is hear who kind of shares their values,” says Scott Bensing.
Students who are veterans say the university is already helpful to them, especially since the transition from the military to college can be significant.
